Leading in April, but what about August?
I hope to see the results for this unscientific Nashville Business Journal poll change dramatically in the next few weeks. I have no idea how many readers have voted at this point, but, as someone who would prefer Briley, Dean, Dozier and Gentry over Bob Clement, this isn’t the starting point I’d have chosen.
How much of this is sheer name recognition? With the major players ramping up their advertising campaigns, we should have a good idea by June or July.

All of this is meaningless, except to say the Clement campaign has driven about 40 people to the website to vote. That’s why the Business Journal won’t tell you how many people have voted–and even if they did, this is a complete waste of time.

Most likely so. Good point.

Let the whining begin. Those who don’t know or understand how deep and strong Bob Clement is in this community will continue their gnashing of teeth and rending of clothing as he rolls toward the Mayor’s office.

Maybe you’re right, but I sure hope you aren’t. Maybe identify yourself next time you comment?

Rob,
Whats with all of the Dem infighting? Its very detrimental to their cause due to the damage it does to their credibility…do those attacking Clement as a “Bona Fide” Democrat think they gain credibility with John Q Public that way? I think people stop listening as soon as they say something as foolish as that. The Clement family is almost considered as “Bona Fide” as the Gores in most quarters. Clement looks like a very viable option to me considering the rest of the field and their liabilities. This is what a campaign is all about, getting down to the real record of those who have put themselves forward for voter consideration. As this campaign season moves forward, we will find out much more about each candidate. It will be fun and educational because each of these men have real records and most of them aren’t good. In my mind, I am asking who it is that has the PROVEN experience to lead us forward and maintain Nashville’s edge all while being FAIR to every citizen of Nashville. Several of the folks running have spent literally years unfairly going out of their way to be less than striaght forward in their deling with much of the conservative and business community. I think this will be evident to most of Nashville soon. Whatever you and your readers think of Republicans, Thanks for your reasonable discourse without all the “Over the Top” language used on the other blogs. We may disagree but we don’t need to be disagreeable. Keep up the good job, keeping it lively.
