- Too late: Representative Joe Wilson is the story from last night’s health care address by President Obama, though he shouldn’t be. Tennessee Senator Bob Corker–and many others–have rightly concluded that Wilson was out of line. Here’s yet another instance of politicians getting away from frank, honest and civil debate on the issues.
- What was missing from Wilson’s outburst was respect. It’s one thing to disagree, but it’s another to do it dishonorably.
- Don’t worry, though: Reactionaries are already coming to the rescue, certifying Joe Wilson to be evil. You have to admire the opportunism and the quick URL registration.
- Did you catch Senator Lindsey Graham’s take on Obama’s speech? I’m wondering whether he and I watched the same address. It doesn’t sound like it.
- If you can’t be at Heinz Field for tonight’s Titans-Steelers game, why not LP Field instead, and for a worthy cause?
- Speaking of worthy causes, it’s Twestival time again! If you are in town tonight, help out the Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee by stopping by.
- The Lego Experience Tour is in Nashville this weekend, but I’m not. I’m traveling to Indianapolis for work. Legos were a large part of my childhood, and I’m a little bummed to miss out on this event at the Tennessee State Fair.
- I’m not letting any 80s heavy-metal band near my chicken, whether its Dokken or anyone else.
